Which Bajaj is the cheapest in Nepal?
The Platina 100 at Rs 2,61,900. It is a 99.6 cc commuter with a 4-speed gearbox, an 11 L tank and 200 mm ground clearance, the highest ground clearance in the Bajaj range. At 117 kg it is also the lightest. HH Bajaj lists "anti-skid braking" for it rather than ABS, so it is the simplest and cheapest option, not the best equipped.
Which 125 cc Bajaj should I look at?
Three Pulsars share this class, and they are close in price and power.
- Pulsar 125 (Rs 3,14,900): the cheapest, with a 15 L tank, the largest of the three.
- Pulsar N125 (Rs 3,26,900): Rs 12,000 more than the Pulsar 125. It lists a 795 mm seat height, 187 mm ground clearance and CBS braking, but a smaller 9.1 L tank.
- Pulsar NS125 (Rs 3,51,900): the sporty one, with a 12 L tank and 178 mm ground clearance. It costs Rs 37,000 more than the Pulsar 125.
The power difference between the three is small (8.68 to 8.83 kW), so the choice is about the tank, the looks and the budget, not performance. If fuel range matters, note that the Pulsar 125 has a 15 L tank against 9.1 L on the N125.
Pulsar 150, N150 or N160?
The classic Pulsar 150 comes as SD (single disc, Rs 3,69,900) and TD (twin disc, Rs 3,90,900). The TD costs Rs 21,000 more and is 4 kg lighter on paper (144 kg against 148 kg). The Pulsar N150 is Rs 34,000 above the Pulsar 150 SD and offers 10.66 kW against 10.3 kW.
The Pulsar N160 at Rs 4,47,900 is the one that adds dual-channel ABS and 12.5 kW. It is the only 150 to 160 cc Pulsar listed with dual-channel ABS, which is the safer setup on wet roads. See how it fits among rivals in our 150cc bike comparison, or read Pulsar 150 vs TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
200 cc and above: NS200, 220F, N250, NS400Z and Dominar 400
- Pulsar 220F (Rs 4,64,900) is Rs 15,000 cheaper than the NS200 but has 15 kW against 18 kW and single-channel ABS.
- Pulsar NS200 (Rs 4,79,900) has 18 kW, 18.74 Nm and dual-channel ABS at 158 kg.
- Pulsar N250 (Rs 5,32,900) offers 18.02 kW and 21.5 Nm, so on paper its power matches the NS200 and its torque is higher.
- Pulsar NS400Z (Rs 6,29,900) and Dominar 400 (Rs 6,63,900) share the same 373.3 cc engine, 29.42 kW and 35 Nm. The NS400Z is Rs 34,000 cheaper and 18 kg lighter (174 kg against 192 kg). The Dominar lists a 6-speed gearbox, a 13 L tank and a 1,453 mm wheelbase, so it is the longer, heavier touring-style bike.
