The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has more power and more features, and the Bajaj Pulsar 150 is cheaper with a bigger fuel tank. The Pulsar 150 starts at Rs 3,69,900 and the Apache RTR 160 4V at Rs 3,88,900 (indicative ex-showroom prices on the official HH Bajaj and TVS Nepal sites, checked October 2026), a gap of Rs 19,000; for that the Apache adds about 3.5 PS, ride modes and Bluetooth.

The Pulsar 150 TD (Rs 3,90,900) and the Apache DD ABS (Rs 3,88,900) are almost the same price, so if you want the twin-disc Pulsar, the base Apache is a fair comparison. Registration, road tax and insurance come on top.

When Bajaj introduced the current Pulsar 150 in Nepal in March 2026, ShareSansar reported a price of Rs 3,55,900 with fuel injection, single-channel ABS, an LED headlamp and a Bluetooth-capable digital console. The distributor's SD page today shows Rs 3,69,900 and lists a full digital console, but describes a 35/35 W headlamp and does not mention Bluetooth, so confirm both at the showroom.

Even in its softer Urban/Rain mode, the Apache's claimed output is above the Pulsar's. The Pulsar's advantage is its 15-litre tank, three litres more than the Apache's.

Brake details to check: the Apache DD ABS page lists a 240 mm rear drum and also a rear disc rim, and two rear tyre sizes, so confirm what is fitted. The TVS USD version is clear: 240 mm rear disc and dual-channel ABS. On the Bajaj side, the TD has a 230 mm rear disc and single-channel ABS.

Features: what each bike offers

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V (DD ABS page):

Bajaj Pulsar 150 SD:

The TD version uses Bajaj's DTS-i air-cooled engine with the same 14 PS and 13.4 Nm, adds a rear disc and a wider 120/80-17 rear tyre, and weighs 144 kg.

What we like

  • Pulsar 150: Rs 19,000 cheaper to start (SD vs Apache DD ABS)
  • Pulsar 150: 15-litre tank, the bigger of the two

  • Apache RTR 160 4V: 180 mm ground clearance

What could be better

  • Pulsar 150: lower claimed power, 14 PS
  • Apache RTR 160 4V: brake and tyre details on the base version are unclear

Mileage: what is published

Neither HH Bajaj nor TVS Nepal publishes a fuel-economy figure for these bikes. Numbers you see online do not come from the distributors, so we leave them out. To work out your own cost: fuel cost per km = Rs 200 (Nepal Oil Corporation petrol price, October 2026) ÷ the km per litre you actually get. Our highest-mileage bikes list covers models that do publish a figure.

EMI example

Nepal Rastra Bank caps vehicle loans at 60% of the price. HH Bajaj's partner Hulas Finserv cut its two-wheeler rate to 8.99% and extended terms to 60 months in July 2026, The Himalayan Times reported. TVS financing terms are not published on its product pages; we use the same 8.99% for both purely as an example:

Pulsar 150 SD Apache 4V DD ABS Apache 4V USD
Price Rs 3,69,900 Rs 3,88,900 Rs 4,29,900
Down payment (40%) Rs 1,47,960 Rs 1,55,560 Rs 1,71,960
Loan (60%) Rs 2,21,940 Rs 2,33,340 Rs 2,57,940
EMI, 36 months at 8.99% about Rs 7,060 about Rs 7,420 about Rs 8,200
EMI, 60 months at 8.99% about Rs 4,610 about Rs 4,840 about Rs 5,350

The longer term lowers the EMI but adds interest: on the Pulsar SD, total interest is about Rs 32,100 over 36 months and about Rs 54,400 over 60. Run your own numbers in the EMI calculator and read our bike loan guide.

Which should you buy?

  • Pulsar 150 if you want the lowest price of the two, a 15-litre tank for fewer fuel stops, and a familiar, simpler bike.

  • Apache 160 4V USD only if you will use dual-channel ABS, the TFT screen and the slipper clutch; it costs Rs 41,000 more than the base Apache.

Whichever you choose, check the brakes and tyres on the exact bike, and ask for warranty terms in writing; none of the five product pages states them. Buying second-hand? Read how to buy a used bike in Nepal.
