Mahindra unveiled its new double-cab pickup on 14 August 2026. It will be sold as the Scorpio Lifestyler in India and the Mahindra Lifestyler in other countries, with an Indian launch by April 2027 at a starting price below INR 19.79 lakh. It has not been announced for Nepal, but if Agni Group brought it here, we estimate it would cost roughly Rs 70–85 lakh if it is taxed like other double-cab pickups, or up to about Rs 1.06 crore if it is priced like the Scorpio-N SUV.
What is the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler?
The Scorpio Lifestyler is a mid-size lifestyle pickup: a double-cab pickup meant for family use and weekend adventure as much as for work. Mahindra says it is built for both "payload and playload".
It grew out of the Global Pik Up concept that Mahindra first showed in Cape Town, South Africa, in August 2023. The production version was designed at the Mahindra India Design Studio in Mumbai and developed at Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai. It sits on what Mahindra calls a next-generation body-on-frame chassis, the traditional ladder-frame layout used by tough pickups and off-roaders.
Mahindra plans to sell it widely abroad: Australia and New Zealand, South Africa and the rest of Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Nepal is not on that list, but Mahindra's Indian-built cars usually reach Nepal through Agni Group.
Authentic capability without compromising on technology, safety, comfort or everyday usability.
What has Mahindra confirmed so far?
| Item | What Mahindra has said |
|---|---|
| Name | Scorpio Lifestyler (India), Mahindra Lifestyler (other markets) |
| Body | Double-cab pickup, body-on-frame |
| India launch | by April 2027 |
| India price | starting below INR 19.79 lakh, ex-showroom |
| Editions | Valley, Reef, Trail |
| Colours | Artemis Grey (Valley), Aquareef (Reef), Sahara Beige (Trail) |
| Engine, power, torque | not announced |
| 4x4 system, gearbox | not announced |
| Dimensions, payload, towing | not announced |
That is a short list. Mahindra has not published a specification sheet yet: no engine, no power figures, no 4x4 details and no payload. Some reports guess at an engine, but we only list what Mahindra itself has confirmed. For reference, every Mahindra pickup on sale in Nepal today, including the Scorpio Pickup, uses a diesel engine.
What are the three editions?
Mahindra showed the Lifestyler in three editions, each with its own colour and theme:
- Valley Edition in Artemis Grey: for buyers who mix work and leisure, with an emphasis on comfort.
- Reef Edition in Aquareef: built around beach and outdoor trips; Mahindra's photos show it with a surfboard on the roof rack.
- Trail Edition in Sahara Beige: the adventure version, for rough tracks and long journeys.
Mahindra's official photos show all three on rocky, wet ground below a waterfall, which tells you how it wants the pickup to be seen. The off-road photos of the earlier Global Pik Up concept on our model page are labelled as the concept, because the production pickup looks different in the details.
How much could the Scorpio Lifestyler cost in Nepal?
There is no Nepal price, so we worked it out two ways from official prices. This is our estimate, not a dealer price.
Method 1: priced like the Scorpio-N. The Scorpio-N SUV sits on a body-on-frame chassis like the Lifestyler, and it is sold in both countries. Its top version, the Z8L Diesel 4WD automatic, costs INR 25,49,000 ex-showroom in India (Mahindra India) and Rs 1,36,00,000 in Nepal (Agni Group). That is about 5.34 Nepali rupees for every Indian rupee of Indian ex-showroom price. Applied to the Lifestyler's INR 19.79 lakh ceiling:
| Amount | |
|---|---|
| India starting price (ceiling) | INR 19,79,000 |
| Nepal/India ratio, Scorpio-N Z8L Diesel 4WD AT | 1,36,00,000 ÷ 25,49,000 = 5.34 |
| Estimated Nepal starting price | about Rs 1.06 crore |
This is an upper figure: Mahindra says the Indian price will start below INR 19.79 lakh, and pickups are not always taxed the same way as SUVs in Nepal.
Method 2: priced against Nepal's double-cab pickups. If the Lifestyler is imported and taxed like the double-cab pickups already sold here, it would compete with these (indicative ex-showroom prices, checked October 2026):
| Pickup on sale in Nepal | Indicative ex-showroom price |
|---|---|
| Mahindra Scorpio Pickup | Rs 54.85 – 58.20 lakh |
| Foton Tunland G7 | Rs 65.40 – 88.90 lakh |
| Isuzu D-Max V-Cross | Rs 78.90 – 86.90 lakh |
| Nissan Navara | Rs 1.015 crore |
| Ford Ranger | Rs 1.399 – 1.699 crore |
| Toyota Hilux | Rs 1.49 – 1.51 crore |
The Lifestyler is newer, larger in ambition and better equipped than Mahindra's current Scorpio Pickup, so it would very likely be priced above that pickup's Rs 58.20 lakh. Mahindra's pickups in Nepal are priced well below the Nissan, Ford and Toyota pickups today, so it would most likely sit under the Navara, Ranger and Hilux too. That puts it in the band now held by the Tunland G7 and the D-Max V-Cross. Our rough guess for this case is Rs 70–85 lakh for a starting version, which is a judgement from the market, not arithmetic.
| Mahindra Scorpio Pickup | 54.85 lakh |
|---|---|
| Foton Tunland G7 | 65.4 lakh |
| Lifestyler (est., pickup pricing) | 70 lakh |
| Isuzu D-Max V-Cross | 78.9 lakh |
| Nissan Navara | 101.5 lakh |
| Lifestyler (est., Scorpio-N ratio) | 106 lakh |
| Ford Ranger | 139.9 lakh |
| Toyota Hilux | 149 lakh |

Whichever way it is taxed, remember that the Nepal price will depend on the engine Mahindra chooses, the customs category the Department of Customs applies, and the versions Agni Group decides to bring. Read our car import tax guide for how engine size and vehicle type change the final price.
Would it suit Nepal's roads?
On paper, the idea fits Nepal well. A body-on-frame double cab is the kind of vehicle many Nepali buyers already choose for hill roads, river crossings and trips outside the valley, and it doubles as a family car with a cargo bed for luggage or goods.
But it is too early to judge. Mahindra has not published ground clearance, approach and departure angles, wading depth or the 4x4 system, and those are the figures that decide how a pickup copes with a monsoon road to Mustang or Rara. We will add them to the model page when Mahindra publishes them. Until then, our guide to driving in the monsoon explains what matters on wet hill roads.
When could it reach Nepal?
Mahindra's own plan is an Indian launch by April 2027, with export markets to follow. Agni Group has not said anything about Nepal. Nothing about the Lifestyler's Nepal timing is confirmed.
