The Hyundai Creta costs Rs 55.56 lakh to Rs 80.56 lakh in Nepal for the six locally assembled petrol versions (indicative ex-showroom prices on the official Laxmi Hyundai price list, checked October 2026). The cheapest automatic is the 1.5 S(O) IVT at Rs 69.56 lakh, so most buyers are really choosing between the base E, the mid S(O) and whether to pay for the IVT gearbox. For the rest of the range, see Hyundai car price in Nepal.
This is a buyer's guide built from published figures, not a test drive: we have not driven the car and say nothing about how it rides or handles. For every figure in one place, see the Hyundai Creta price and specs page. The electric version is a separate model with its own guide: Creta Electric vs BYD Atto 3.
What is the Creta, and is it made in Nepal?
The Creta is Hyundai's five-seat mid-size SUV. In Nepal it is sold by Laxmi Intercontinental, the official Hyundai distributor, and the current petrol model is assembled locally. Laxmi Motor Corporation, part of Laxmi Group, opened Nepal's first car assembly plant at Ramgram in Parasi on 10 May 2024, The Himalayan Times reported.
The facility began producing the Hyundai Venue, followed by the Creta, with plans to add more models in the future.
Hyundai Nepal launched the "Made in Nepal" Creta on 24 March 2025 at a starting price of Rs 53.96 lakh, and said the locally made petrol models were up to Rs 9 lakh cheaper than imported 2025 models. Today's price list labels every one of the six current variants "Made in Nepal". The entry price has since risen to Rs 55.56 lakh.
Hyundai Creta price in Nepal: all variants
All six use a 1,497 cc petrol engine, according to the price list. "MT" is a manual gearbox and "IVT" is Hyundai's automatic (a CVT-type gearbox).

The same list also shows two older "2023" petrol versions, the S+ 2023 at Rs 65.96 lakh and the SX 2023 at Rs 70.56 lakh. They sit under a separate heading from the Made-in-Nepal facelift; if a dealer offers one, ask whether it is old stock and what the warranty start date will be.
Registration, road tax and insurance come on top of these prices. Our registration guide lists those costs.
Which Creta variant should you buy?
Laxmi Hyundai's Nepal site has no working Creta model page (the menu link returns an error), so there is no official list of what each trim adds. That makes the choice mostly about price steps, and about asking the showroom for the feature sheet in writing.
- 1.5 E MT (Rs 55.56 lakh): the cheapest way into a Creta, manual only. Pick this if the badge, size and petrol engine are what you want and you can live without extras.
- 1.5 E Loaded (Rs 55.96 lakh): only Rs 40,000 more than the E. The price list does not say what "Loaded" adds or which gearbox it has, so check before you pay the difference.
- 1.5 S(O) MT (Rs 65.56 lakh): the big jump, nearly Rs 9.6 lakh over the E Loaded. Buy it only if the dealer's feature list shows equipment you will actually use.
- 1.5 S(O) IVT (Rs 69.56 lakh): the cheapest automatic, Rs 4 lakh more than the same trim with a manual. For Kathmandu traffic this is the version many buyers will look at first.
- 1.5 SX(O) IVT (Rs 80.56 lakh): the top version. At this price, also look at rivals' top trims below and at the Creta Electric at Rs 60.96 lakh.
Mileage, engine and size
Mileage: Laxmi Hyundai does not publish a fuel-economy figure for the petrol Creta in Nepal. Figures you see quoted online do not come from the distributor, so we leave them out.
To estimate your own fuel bill, use: fuel cost per 1,000 km = 1,000 ÷ your km per litre × Rs 200 (Nepal Oil Corporation's petrol price, October 2026). As an illustration only, a car averaging 12 km/l would use about Rs 16,700 of petrol per 1,000 km, and one averaging 15 km/l about Rs 13,300. These are example inputs, not Creta figures. Our petrol car running-cost guide explains the other costs.
Engine and gearbox: the Nepal price list confirms a 1,497 cc petrol engine with manual and IVT versions. Power and torque are not published by the Nepal distributor.
Size (global figures that may differ in Nepal): Hyundai India lists the Creta at 4,330 mm long, 1,790 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall, with a 50-litre fuel tank, and offers the 1.5 petrol with a 6-speed manual or the IVT.
Warranty: the March 2025 launch release announced a 3-year warranty for the petrol Creta. It did not give a kilometre limit, so ask for the full terms.
EMI example: what a Creta costs per month
Nepal Rastra Bank caps vehicle loans at 60% of the price, so you pay at least 40% yourself. Below we use Nepal Bank's fixed auto-loan rate of 7.99% for five years (rate sheet effective Kartik 1, 2083). This is an example: your bank's rate, fees and approval will differ.
| 1.5 E MT | 1.5 S(O) IVT | 1.5 SX(O) IVT | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Rs 55,56,000 | Rs 69,56,000 | Rs 80,56,000 |
| Down payment (40%) | Rs 22,22,400 | Rs 27,82,400 | Rs 32,22,400 |
| Loan (60%) | Rs 33,33,600 | Rs 41,73,600 | Rs 48,33,600 |
| EMI, 60 months at 7.99% | about Rs 67,600 | about Rs 84,600 | about Rs 98,000 |
| Total interest | about Rs 7.2 lakh | about Rs 9.0 lakh | about Rs 10.5 lakh |

The Creta's closest match on paper is the Kia Seltos, which also uses a 1,497 cc petrol and offers manual and IVT versions. The Suzukis are the only ones here with an official mileage figure. If you can charge at home, the Creta Electric (one version, Rs 60.96 lakh) costs Rs 8.6 lakh less than the top petrol Creta.
You can line any of them up against the Creta in the compare tool, or browse every model on our SUV price list.
Who the Creta suits, and what to check
The petrol Creta suits a buyer who wants a familiar mid-size SUV with local assembly and a wide dealer network, and who drives too far, or has nowhere to charge, for an EV. If you only need a compact SUV, Hyundai's own Venue starts at Rs 48.96 lakh.
Before you book:
- Get a written feature list for the exact variant, since the official site does not publish one.
- Confirm the gearbox on the E Loaded and whether you are being offered a 2023 or a Made-in-Nepal car.
- Ask for the warranty in years and kilometres, and the free-service schedule.
- Compare the same trim level across rivals, not one brand's base model against another's top model.
