Two versions of the Kona Electric are on sale: the GL at an indicative ex-showroom price of Rs 59,96,000 and the GLS at Rs 64,96,000 (official site, October 2026). Both use a 39.2 kWh battery and a 100 kW motor with a healthy 395 Nm of torque, and Hyundai quotes a 155 km/h top speed.

The body is 4,180 mm long on a 2,600 mm wheelbase, with a 332-litre boot that grows to 1,114 litres with the rear seats folded. Kerb weight is up to 1,743 kg, and the rear uses a multi-link suspension. Seats are listed for five.

The weak spot is what the official page leaves out. There is no range figure and no charging time or charger rating, which are the first numbers most EV buyers look for. The battery is also smaller than the Creta Electric's 42 kWh, and the Creta Electric is listed at a similar price with published range and charging figures. A 39.2 kWh pack is easy to charge at home overnight, but ask the dealer for the claimed range and its test standard before comparing. Ground clearance and safety equipment are not published either.
