The Suzuki Swift costs Rs 38.99 lakh to Rs 52.29 lakh in Nepal across ten versions (indicative ex-showroom prices on the official Suzuki Nepal price list, checked October 2026), and Suzuki claims 25.75 km per litre. At Rs 200 a litre that is about Rs 7.77 of petrol per kilometre at the claimed figure, and the AGS automatic adds Rs 5.5–6 lakh over the matching manual. Want the whole range? What is the Epic Swift?

Suzuki Nepal sells the current, fourth-generation Swift under the name Epic Swift. It is a five-seat hatchback with Suzuki's new 1.2-litre Z-series three-cylinder petrol engine (Z12E). The Swift has a long history here: the third generation was launched in Nepal in June 2018 by CG Motocorp at an introductory Rs 28.99 lakh with a claimed 22 km/l, The Kathmandu Post reported at the time.

The claimed mileage went from 22 km/l on the 2018 car to 25.75 km/l on the Epic Swift, according to the two sources above.

AGS (Auto Gear Shift) is Suzuki's automated manual: a manual gearbox with the clutch and gear changes done for you. Registration, road tax and insurance come on top of these prices.

What the automatic costs extra

Vxi Rs 40.99 lakh Rs 46.99 lakh Rs 6.00 lakh
Zxi Rs 44.49 lakh Rs 49.99 lakh Rs 5.50 lakh
Zxi+ Rs 46.49 lakh Rs 51.99 lakh Rs 5.50 lakh
Zxi+ Dual Tone Rs 46.79 lakh Rs 52.29 lakh Rs 5.50 lakh

The dual-tone paint costs Rs 30,000 on both the manual and the AGS Zxi+.

Which Swift variant should you buy?

Suzuki Nepal's Swift page shows a feature list under one variant only (the Vxi) and does not break down equipment trim by trim. So use the price steps and ask the showroom for the variant-wise feature sheet.

  • Lxi (Rs 38.99 lakh): the lowest price for the same engine, safety headline figures and claimed mileage as every other Swift.
  • Vxi (Rs 40.99 lakh): Rs 2 lakh more. The official page lists a 17.78 cm (7-inch) SmartPlay Studio touchscreen under the Vxi.
  • Zxi and Zxi+ (Rs 44.49–46.79 lakh): the upper trims. The page also mentions a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ screen with Arkamys sound, without saying which variant gets it; ask before you assume it is on the Zxi+.
  • AGS versions (Rs 46.99–52.29 lakh): for heavy city traffic. Because the AGS adds Rs 5.5 lakh or more, compare a Vxi AGS against a Zxi+ manual, which cost almost the same.

Engine, mileage and safety: what the official page confirms

Spec Epic Swift (Suzuki Nepal)
Engine 1,197 cc, 3-cylinder Z12E petrol
Power 81.58 PS at 5,700 rpm
Torque 111.7 Nm at 4,300 rpm
Fuel efficiency 25.75 km/l, "under standard test conditions"
Idle start-stop Available
Safety 6 airbags as standard, ESP, hill hold
Length × width × height 3,860 × 1,735 × 1,520 mm
Wheelbase 2,450 mm
Boot 308 litres
Kerb weight 925 kg
Fuel tank, ground clearance, warranty Not stated on the official page

Six airbags and ESP on every version is a strong point at this price: the 2018 Swift had dual airbags, by the Post's report.

Fuel cost per km and per month

The 25.75 km/l figure is a test-condition claim; real-world economy in hills and traffic is usually lower. Using the claim and Nepal Oil Corporation's petrol price of Rs 200 a litre (October 2026):

  • Fuel cost per km: Rs 200 ÷ 25.75 = about Rs 7.77
  • 1,000 km a month: about Rs 7,770
  • 12,000 km a year: about Rs 93,200

If your car does 20% worse than the claim (about 20.6 km/l), the yearly bill rises to about Rs 1.17 lakh. That is our arithmetic, not a measured figure.

Who the Swift suits, and what to check

The Swift suits a first car buyer or a small family who want a petrol hatchback with six airbags, an official mileage claim and a big dealer network. If your budget stops below Rs 38 lakh, the Celerio and Wagon R are the Suzuki alternatives; our first-time car buyer's guide helps you set the budget.

Before you pay:

  • Ask for the variant-wise feature list, especially the screen size and tyre size.
  • Ask for the warranty and free-service terms in writing; the Swift page does not state them.
  • If you want an automatic, drive the AGS in traffic before you commit Rs 5.5 lakh extra.
