For that you get a larger engine with 0.31 kW more power, a front disc brake, 11 mm more ground clearance and an adjustable rear shock. Honda lists no mileage figure for either scooter in Nepal.
Honda scooters are sold in Nepal by Syakar Company. This guide uses Honda Nepal's published figures only. We have not ridden either scooter, so we say nothing about comfort, handling or how they feel in traffic. Full pages: Dio 110 and Dio 125. The two scooters are almost the same size and weight, with the same wheelbase, tank and tyre sizes. The 125 is 22 mm longer and 22 mm taller, and the 110 is 16 mm wider. The real differences are the engine, the front brake, ground clearance and the rear shock.
Power: how much is 0.31 kW?
The Dio 125 makes 6.09 kW against 5.78 kW, about 5% more, and 10.4 Nm against 9.03 Nm, about 15% more torque (our arithmetic from Honda's figures). Both are automatic scooters meant for city riding. Honda gives no top speed or acceleration figure, so we cannot say how that shows up on the road.
Brakes and ground clearance
The Dio 125 has a front disc and a rear drum. The Dio 110 has drums at both ends. A disc brake is a feature many buyers look for, and it is the clearest hardware difference between the two. Neither Honda page lists ABS in our catalogue data, so ask the showroom what braking aid your version has.
Ground clearance is 171 mm on the 125 and 160 mm on the 110. That 11 mm will not change much on a smooth road, but it can matter over high speed breakers and broken surfaces.
Features: what each page lists
Taken from the two official pages:
- Dio 110: LED headlamp and position lamp, an "intelligent" meter with real-time and average mileage and distance to empty, an external fuel lid, silent start, and a side-stand engine cut-off listed as optional.
- Dio 125: LED split position lamp and headlamp, a smart digital meter with the same mileage and range readouts, an idling stop system, side-stand cut-off, an external fuel lid, 18 litres of under-seat storage and the 3-step adjustable rear shock. The DLX adds Honda's smart key (H-Smart).
The Dio 110 page does not give an under-seat storage figure in our data, so check it in the showroom if you carry a helmet or shopping every day.
What we like
- Dio 110: the lowest price, from Rs 2,69,900
- Dio 110: 1 kg lighter, and the widest of the two at 723 mm
- Dio 125: front disc brake and 171 mm ground clearance
- Dio 125: more power and torque, 18 L under-seat storage listed
What could be better
- Dio 110: drum brakes at both ends
- Dio 125: Rs 45,000 more at the base level
Mileage and running cost
Honda Nepal does not publish a km/l figure for either Dio. Both meters show average mileage, so you can measure your own after a few tanks. To turn that into money, divide the petrol price by your km per litre. With petrol at Rs 200 a litre (Nepal Oil Corporation, October 2026), a scooter that returns 45 km/l would cost about Rs 4.44 a km. That 45 km/l is only an example to show the sum, not a Honda claim. Our fuel price guide tracks the current rate, and the best-mileage scooters list shows scooters that do publish a figure.
EMI example
Lenders regulated by Nepal Rastra Bank can finance at most 60% of a private vehicle's price, so plan on at least 40% down. Honda names Syakar Hire Purchase as its finance partner but does not publish a rate. As an example only, we use 8.99% over 36 months, the rate Bajaj's finance partner announced in July 2026 as reported by The Himalayan Times.
| Dio 110 STD | Dio 110 DLX | Dio 125 STD | Dio 125 DLX | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Rs 2,69,900 | Rs 2,84,900 | Rs 3,14,900 | Rs 3,31,900 |
| Down payment (40%) | Rs 1,07,960 | Rs 1,13,960 | Rs 1,25,960 | Rs 1,32,760 |
| Loan (60%) | Rs 1,61,940 | Rs 1,70,940 | Rs 1,88,940 | Rs 1,99,140 |
| EMI, 36 months at 8.99% | about Rs 5,150 | about Rs 5,440 | about Rs 6,010 | about Rs 6,330 |
Moving from the Dio 110 STD to the Dio 125 STD adds about Rs 860 a month on this example and Rs 18,000 more cash down. Ask Syakar for its real rate and fees, and try your own numbers in the EMI calculator. Our bike and scooter loan guide covers the paperwork.

Which Dio should you buy?
- Buy the Dio 110 if price matters most and your rides are short city trips. It is the cheaper scooter, and the engine difference is small.
- Buy the Dio 125 if you want a front disc brake, the extra ground clearance, more torque and the 18-litre storage, and Rs 45,000 is not a stretch.
- Either way, check the version's braking aid and under-seat space in person, ask Syakar about warranty terms and free services, and read how to buy a used bike if you are considering a second-hand one.
