The best electric scooter in Nepal depends on how you ride: the Yadea GT70 claims the longest range (220 km), the TVS Orbiter gives the most range per rupee among the Indian brands, the Ather Rizta suits families and the Ather 450 is the quickest. Every pick below uses official Nepal prices and specs.

Our catalogue now lists 21 electric scooter models sold in Nepal, priced from Rs 1,99,000 to over Rs 4 lakh. The brands range from Indian names like Ather, TVS and Bajaj to Chinese makers NIU and Yadea, and Nepal's own Yatri. Choosing between them is hard, because every brand measures range differently and some do not publish prices at all.

So this guide ranks every electric scooter with an official Nepal price by one open measure you can check yourself, then gives our picks by use, because the best scooter for a student is not the best one for a family. All figures come from the brands' official Nepali sites, checked October 2026. We have not ridden these scooters, so there are no riding impressions here.

How we ranked them

Score = claimed range (km) ÷ price (in Rs lakh)

In other words: how many kilometres of claimed range each Rs 1 lakh of ex-showroom price buys. We used each model's lowest-priced variant. Higher is better.

Be aware of what this score does not capture:

  • Range claims are not like-for-like. Ather and Chetak quote the IDC lab cycle. TVS quotes what it calls "real-world" range, which is normally lower than a lab figure. NIU and Yadea quote their own claims without naming a standard test. A brand that claims cautiously scores lower. See range and test cycles.
  • It ignores build quality, service network, storage, features and resale value, which we cover in the picks below.
  • Sponsorship plays no part. No brand paid for a position.

Models without an official price (Bajaj Chetak, Yatri P2 and NIU FX Wind) cannot be scored. We cover them separately.

Source: Our score: claimed range ÷ price (lowest variant), official Nepal sites, October 2026

How to read this: Yadea scores well because it claims long ranges for its prices. The iQube scores lowest of the big names partly because TVS quotes a more conservative "real-world" figure. Use the score to build a shortlist, not to decide.

Our picks by use

Best for a tight budget: Yadea E8s Pro, Yadea GS70 or NIU FX Citi

The E8s Pro is the cheapest scooter here at its Rs 1,99,000 offer price, with a claimed 150 km and a 60 km/h top speed. Its warranty is shorter than other Yadea models: 2 years or 20,000 km on the motor and battery. The GS70 (Rs 2,35,000) uses an LFP battery covered for 3 years or 50,000 km, has 20 litres of storage and a listed 170 mm ground clearance. The NIU FX Citi, also Rs 2,35,000, has a 55 km/h top speed and 80 km claimed range. More options are in our best electric scooters under Rs 3 lakh list.

Best for the longest claimed range: Yadea GT70

The GT70 has the biggest battery in this list: two LFP packs totalling 5.7 kWh, which Yadea says gives 220 km. Its top speed is a modest 65 km/h, and Yadea lists a charge time of up to 7 hours. It suits long, steady daily routes more than fast highway riding.

Best range for the money from a big network: TVS Orbiter

At Rs 2,81,900, the Orbiter V2 gets a 3.1 kWh battery and a claimed 158 km. That is the highest range per rupee among the Indian brands, with TVS's large Nepali service network behind it. TVS does not list a top speed for the Orbiter on its Nepal page, so ask the dealer.

Best for families: Ather Rizta or TVS iQube

The Rizta has the most storage we could confirm: a 34-litre boot plus a 22-litre front box. The iQube gives you a bigger battery for the same Rs 3,19,900 and a pillion backrest. We compare them in detail in Ather Rizta vs TVS iQube.

Best for performance: Ather 450, NIU FQi 300 or Yatri P2

The Ather 450 has a 90 km/h top speed and gets from 0 to 40 km/h in as little as 3.3 seconds (450X versions). The NIU FQi 300 lists 88 km/h and a 4.8 kW peak motor. The Yatri P2 claims 10 kW and 90 km/h (see below). If you are deciding between Ather's two models, read Ather Rizta vs Ather 450.

Best battery warranty: Yatri P2 or Ather Rizta LR/R35

Yatri lists 8 years or 80,000 km of battery cover for the P2. Ather lists 8 years on the Rizta LR and R35, and up to 8 years or 80,000 km on the 450. Yadea covers its batteries for 3 years or 50,000 km on most models.

The scooters we could not score

Bajaj Chetak (price on request)

Bajaj's Chetak is sold through the Chetak Nepal website, which does not publish prices. Its official Nepal figures:

Model Battery Range (IDC) Top speed Warranty
Chetak C2501 2.5 kWh 113 km 60 km/h 3 years / 30,000 km
Chetak C3503 3.5 kWh 151 km up to 70 km/h 3 years / 30,000 km
Chetak C3501 3.5 kWh 153 km 80 km/h 5 years / 50,000 km

The C3501 is the best-equipped: it adds a touchscreen with Google Maps navigation, keyless access, hill hold and a 35-litre boot. The C3503 has drum brakes at both ends. Ask the showroom for a written price before you compare it with the others.

Yatri P2 (Nepal-made)

Yatri's website shows no price. Sipradi Yatri announced a starting price of Rs 3,29,900 (reported by Onlinekhabar) for the 3.0 kWh version, which claims 90 km in the city. That works out at about 27 km per lakh. The 5.2 kWh version claims 157 km, but we could not confirm its price. The P2 stands out for its claimed 10 kW peak power, 90 km/h top speed and DC fast charging (to 80% in 41 minutes, per Yatri). Full details are in our Yatri P2 guide.

NIU FX Wind

NIU's page shows the same price as the FX Citi, although the FX Wind has more than twice the motor power. We list it as price on request until NIU confirms.

Charging: what the brands say

Scooter Home charging time (official)
Ather 450 (2.9 kWh) 2 h 45 min to 80%
Ather Rizta (2.7 kWh) about 4 h 10 min to 100%
TVS iQube 4 h 30 min to 80%
NIU FQi 300 3–4 hours
Chetak C3501 4 h 25 min to 100%
Yadea GS70 / Owin 5–6 hours
NIU Gova G3, FX Citi, NQi Sport 5–6 hours
Yadea GT80 7–8 hours

All of these charge overnight from a home socket. What matters more is a safe socket where the scooter sleeps. Our EV charging guide covers home-charging safety, and our AC charging glossary entry explains the basics.

Running cost: they are all cheap

Using the Nepal Electricity Authority's top domestic rate of Rs 11 per unit plus 5% VAT on household units above 50 a month, we get Rs 11.55 per unit, the highest likely rate. A full charge of a 3 kWh battery therefore costs about 3 × 11.55 = Rs 35. Even the 5.7 kWh GT70 costs about 5.7 × 11.55 = Rs 66 to fill from empty. Those figures ignore a little loss while charging. Whichever scooter you choose, electricity will cost a small fraction of what petrol would. See EV vs petrol in Nepal: the real 5-year cost or work out your own commute in the EV vs petrol cost calculator.

Before you buy any electric scooter

  1. Shortlist by range and price, using the table above, then test-ride on your own route, including a hill.
  2. Ask for the full warranty in writing: battery and motor, years and kilometres, and whether it transfers.
  3. Check the nearest service point to your home, and how long a battery or controller repair usually takes.
  4. Confirm the price on paper. Offers like Yadea's E8s Pro price can end.
  5. Budget for registration and insurance, which come on top of the ex-showroom price.

Compare any of these side by side in our compare tool, or browse every model in the electric scooter price list.
