Update, 23 October 2026: MG now has a seven-seat EV in Nepal: the MG Hector Tomahawk EV, launched on 10 October 2026 by G.O. Automobiles (not Paramount Motors, which sells MG's other models). We compare it head to head in Wuling Eksion vs MG Hector Tomahawk. See also our Wuling car price in Nepal guide for the whole Wuling range. Below, the seven-seaters that were already on sale: Wuling's Eksion (Rs 57.99 lakh) and Darion (Rs 59.99 lakh) and the BYD M6 (Rs 58.90 lakh), three seven-seat EVs with WLTP range claims of 440–445 km.

"Wuling vs MG seven-seater" is a natural thing to search for. Both brands are sold in Nepal by the same company, Paramount Motors, and both have been busy launching electric cars. So we checked both official Nepal websites to see which seven-seaters you can actually buy.

The short answer: Wuling sells two seven-seat electric cars in Nepal, and MG sells none. Rather than invent a comparison, this guide explains what MG does offer, then compares Wuling's pair with the other seven-seat electric car that has a published Nepal price, the BYD M6.

All prices below are the indicative ex-showroom price on the official site (checked October 2026). Registration, road tax and insurance come on top; see our guide to road tax and insurance. This is a buyer's guide built from published specifications. We have not driven these cars, so we say nothing about how they drive.

Does MG sell a seven-seater in Nepal?

Not at the moment. On 23 October 2026 the model menu on MG Motor Nepal's site listed six models: the MG4 EV hatchback, the MGS5 EV, MGS6 EV and MG IM6 SUVs, the MG HS Plug-in Hybrid and the MGU9 EV pickup. None of them is presented on the Nepal site as a six- or seven-seater.

If you want an MG and can live with five seats, the closest family-sized options are the MGS6 EV (Rs 71,99,000) and the MGS5 EV (from Rs 43,99,000). If you need seven seats, you have to look elsewhere for now. We will update this page if MG Nepal adds one.

Wuling's range figures are WLTP; its site also quotes higher CLTC numbers (530 km for the Eksion, 540 km for the Darion), which come from a gentler Chinese test. BYD's 440 km is also WLTP, so all three range claims in the table are on the same footing. If you need a refresher on test cycles, see WLTP, NEDC and CLTC in our glossary.

The differences in plain words

SUV or MPV?

The Eksion is a seven-seat SUV. Wuling describes its seating as "5+2", a label brands generally use when the third row is meant for occasional use, such as children or short trips. Wuling also says the cargo area grows to as much as 1,788 litres with the seats folded.

The Darion is a people carrier. It is 165 mm longer than the Eksion, with a wheelbase 100 mm longer, and it has two electric sliding doors. Its second row has ventilated captain seats with electric adjustment, and ISOFIX child-seat points are listed on the second and third rows. If adults will regularly sit in the back two rows, this is the layout built for that job. Sit in all three rows at the showroom before you choose.

The M6 is BYD's MPV. BYD Nepal quotes boot space of "up to 580 litres" and 170 mm of ground clearance. Wuling does not publish ground clearance for either model, so take a tape measure if steep driveways or rough roads are part of your routine.

Same battery and motor at Wuling

The two Wulings share the same 69.2 kWh LFP battery and the same 150 kW front motor, and their WLTP ranges are only 5 km apart. Your choice between them comes down to body style, the sliding doors and the Rs 2 lakh price difference, not the drivetrain.

BYD: bigger battery, smaller motor on paper

The M6 has the largest battery of the three (71.8 kWh), but BYD Nepal lists a 100 kW motor with 250 Nm. That is a lot less than the Wulings' 150 kW. Our catalogue notes that this figure is lower than BYD's global numbers for the 71.8 kWh M6, so ask the dealer to confirm the Nepal motor rating in writing. Power matters with seven people on board on a hill road.

Safety and equipment we can confirm

Both Wulings list six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold, adaptive cruise control and a 360° camera. Wuling mentions Level-2 ADAS for the Eksion without listing the individual features. BYD Nepal's M6 page did not show an airbag count or ADAS list when we checked. Ask for the equipment list of the exact car you are buying.

Warranty

Wuling covers the traction motor and high-voltage battery for 8 years or 1,50,000 km, whichever comes first. The model pages do not state a separate whole-vehicle warranty, so ask what the rest of the car is covered for. BYD Nepal states 8 years or 1,60,000 km for the battery and the vehicle, subject to its terms. That is the most generous published cover of the three.

Running cost: a worked example

Electricity cost depends on how far you drive and what you pay per unit. In this example we use Rs 11.55 per unit, the top household block on the Nepal Electricity Authority domestic tariff (Rs 11) plus 5% VAT, as in our EV vs petrol 5-year cost guide. We work out energy use from each car's battery and WLTP range, then add 20% for charging losses and real roads. That 20% is our assumption.

Eksion Darion M6
Battery ÷ WLTP range 15.7 kWh per 100 km 15.6 kWh per 100 km 16.3 kWh per 100 km
Assumed, at the plug (+20%) 18.9 kWh 18.7 kWh 19.6 kWh
Units for 1,500 km a month 284 281 294
Cost per month about Rs 3,270 about Rs 3,240 about Rs 3,400
Cost per km about Rs 2.18 about Rs 2.16 about Rs 2.26
Electricity cost per month at 1,500 km (Rs)
Electricity cost per month at 1,500 km (Rs)
Wuling Eksion3,270 Rs
Wuling Darion3,240 Rs
BYD M63,400 Rs

Source: Our worked example: NEA top domestic rate Rs 11 + 5% VAT; energy use from official battery size ÷ WLTP range, plus 20% (our assumption)

For example, the Eksion: 1,500 × 18.9 ÷ 100 = 283.5 units, and 283.5 × Rs 11.55 ≈ Rs 3,274. The three cars cost almost the same to run, so running cost should not decide this choice. A full car with luggage and the air conditioning on will use more. You can try your own numbers in the EV charging cost calculator.

Other seven-seat options to know about

  • Maxus MIFA 7 is a seven-seat electric MPV with a 90 kWh battery and a 635 km range that Maxus Nepal labels "WLTP City" (a city-only figure, not the usual combined WLTP). Its official price page shows a figure that does not match the site's own price range, so we list it as price on request until the distributor confirms it.
  • Denza D9 is a large luxury electric MPV, also price on request on the official site.
  • If you do not need electric, our catalogue has diesel seven-seaters such as the Mahindra Bolero Neo (from Rs 53,00,000) and the Mahindra Scorpio-N. See the full SUV price list.

Which suits whom?

  • Choose the Eksion if you mostly carry five people and want the option of two extra seats now and then, in an SUV body, for the lowest price of the three.
  • Choose the Darion if adults will use the second and third rows often. The sliding doors, captain seats and longer wheelbase are built for that, and it costs Rs 2 lakh more than the Eksion.
  • Consider the BYD M6 if a longer published vehicle warranty matters most to you, but first get the dealer to confirm the motor rating.

You can put any two of them side by side in our compare tool.

Before you buy: a short checklist

  1. Sit in the third row with the second row set where your family would use it.
  2. Check the boot with all seven seats up. None of the three publishes that figure clearly.
  3. Ask for the warranty booklet and read what is excluded, especially for the battery.
  4. Plan home charging. A seven-seater battery takes hours on AC, so check your connection with our EV charging guide.
  5. Get the price in writing, with a validity date. Electric car prices in Nepal have moved with the new tax rules; our explainer on FY 2026/27 EV taxes explains why.
  6. Work out the loan. Private car loans are capped at 60% of the price; try the EMI calculator.
