The Changan Nevo Q05 is a compact electric SUV that starts at Rs 48.99 lakh in Nepal, with a 51.9 kWh battery and a claimed 462 km of range on the NEDC test cycle. That range figure comes from a lenient test, so plan on less in daily use.

This is a buyer's guide built from official data, not a test-drive review. We have not driven the car, so we say nothing about how it rides or feels.

What it is

The Q05 is sold in Nepal by MAW Vriddhi, the Changan distributor. The company's marketing uses both "Nevo Q05" and "Deepal NivO Q05" for the same car, so you may see either name. Ratopati reported the launch on 23 August 2026 at an event in Kathmandu, where the cars were shown at the NADA Auto Show with a short-lived discount.

It is a front-wheel-drive SUV with a single 120 kW (163 PS) permanent-magnet motor, a top speed of 160 km/h and a 0–100 km/h time of 8.2 seconds, all as listed on the official model page.

Prices and variants

Indicative ex-showroom prices on the official site (checked October 2026):

Variant Price Battery Range (NEDC)
Max Rs 48,99,000 51.9 kWh 462 km
Ultra Rs 51,99,000 51.9 kWh 462 km

The Ultra costs Rs 3 lakh more (51.99 − 48.99) for the same battery, motor and claimed range. The official model page does not split the equipment list by variant, so we cannot tell you exactly what the extra Rs 3 lakh buys. Ask the showroom for a printed feature list for both before you decide.

Ratopati reported lower introductory prices of Rs 46.99 lakh and Rs 49.99 lakh that applied only during the NADA Auto Show. After the show the prices rose by Rs 2 lakh to the figures in the table. Prices can change again, particularly after budget-related tax changes, so confirm on the day. Our guide to the FY 2026/27 EV tax changes explains why EV prices have moved this year.

Battery, range and charging

The battery is lithium iron phosphate (LFP), 51.9 kWh. The claimed range is 462 km on the NEDC cycle. NEDC is an older, more generous test than WLTP, so numbers are not comparable one-to-one with cars quoted in WLTP. Ratopati's launch report quoted a lower 405 km WLTP figure, which is probably closer to what the test gives under the stricter procedure. We could not find that figure on the official page, so treat it as a news report and ask the dealer which one applies. Our range-test explainer shows how the cycles differ.

For charging, Ratopati reported that the car supports fast charging that takes the battery from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes. The official page does not list AC or DC charging power, so we cannot confirm it, and we have no figure for the home-charging time. Before buying, ask for the AC charging power and the connector type, and check that there are fast chargers on the routes you drive. Our EV charging guide and home charger guide cover the practical side.

Size, space and features we can confirm

From Ratopati's launch report: a 2,735 mm wheelbase, a 540-litre boot with a lower hidden compartment, and a drag coefficient of 0.265. The report was machine-translated, so check the numbers on the brochure. The official model page lists five colours: Aurora Pink, Deep Space Black, Moonlight White, Mercury Silver and Starlight Gray.

We could not confirm airbag count, driver-assistance features, screen sizes, ground clearance or a crash-test rating from the official page. Do not assume them. Ask for the spec sheet, which the model page links to.

Warranty

We found no warranty terms for the Q05 on the model page. Ask for the vehicle and the battery warranty in writing, in both years and kilometres, and check what the battery health threshold is. Our EV battery warranty guide has a checklist.

What it costs to run

On the Nepal Electricity Authority's domestic tariff (15-ampere single-phase meter), units above 250 a month cost Rs 11 each. The Kathmandu Post reported a 5% VAT on household units above 50 a month from July 2026, so we use Rs 11.55 per unit, the higher figure.

  • A full charge at home, ignoring losses: 51.9 kWh × Rs 11.55 = about Rs 599.
  • NEDC consumption works out to 51.9 ÷ 462 × 100 = about 11.2 kWh per 100 km, which is optimistic. We assume 18 kWh per 100 km at the plug for real use. That is our assumption, not a measured figure.
  • 1,500 km a month: 270 units (1,500 × 18 ÷ 100) × Rs 11.55 = about Rs 3,119, or about Rs 2.08 per km.

Compare any two in the compare tool. Remember the range columns use different test cycles: the Q05's NEDC number looks larger partly because of the test.

Who it suits

  • Buyers who want a family-size electric SUV under Rs 52 lakh and plan to charge at home.
  • Anyone who compares range closely: just convert the figures to the same test first.
  • Less suited if you need confirmed safety equipment or a long warranty stated up front, since neither is on the official page.

What to check before buying

  • Which range figure the distributor will put in writing: NEDC or WLTP.
  • The exact feature gap between Max and Ultra.
  • Whether any introductory or expo discount still applies.
  • Registration, road tax and insurance on top of the ex-showroom price. See the on-road price calculator.
  • Financing: Nepal Rastra Bank limits private vehicle loans to 60% of the value. On the Max that is 48.99 × 0.6 = Rs 29.39 lakh at most, leaving about Rs 19.60 lakh to pay yourself. Try the EMI calculator.

All prices are indicative ex-showroom prices on the official site (checked October 2026). Specifications from news reports are marked as such.
