Who it suits: Buyers looking at a compact luxury electric SUV who are happy to request a price and can charge at home.
The iX1 eDrive20 is the most thoroughly documented BMW on the Nepal site, though like every BMW here it has no published price; Laxmi Premium Motors lists it as price on request.
The electric drivetrain makes 150 kW and 250 Nm, with a 66.5 kWh battery (gross figure) and a claimed WLTP range of up to 475 km, the top of a stated 430 to 475 km band. Top speed is 170 km/h. Charging is flexible: up to 11 kW on AC, which suits an overnight top-up at home, and up to 130 kW on DC, reaching 80 percent in a claimed 29 minutes. At 4,500 mm long it is a compact SUV, with a 490-litre boot and a quoted kerb weight of 1,940 kg (EU unladen).
Equipment named on the page includes a 10.7-inch screen, a panorama glass roof, cruise control, ESC, a reversing camera with 3D view, and the Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus packages. Seven colours are listed, from Alpine White to Cape York Green metallic. Missing are ground clearance, seat count and, most importantly, a price, which makes it impossible to judge value against rivals that publish theirs.
Indicative only. Banks add service charges and may price your loan differently.
