"Hunter 350 vs Classic 350" is one of the most searched bike comparisons in Nepal, usually followed by "which is better", "mileage", "weight" and "seat height". We answer each of those below from the figures Royal Enfield publishes. We have not ridden either bike for this article, so there are no riding impressions here, only data.

Royal Enfield's Nepal site prices both bikes by colour. All prices are indicative ex-showroom prices on the official site, checked October 2026. Registration, road tax and insurance come on top.

So even the most expensive Hunter (Rs 5,11,000) costs Rs 75,000 less than the cheapest Classic. The spread within each model is small: Rs 24,000 across the Hunter colours and Rs 25,000 across the Classic colours.

Hunter prices have moved over the past year. When the refreshed 2025 Hunter 350 launched, The Himalayan Times reported Rs 4,94,900 for the single-tone and Rs 4,99,900 for the dual-tone version, and The Kathmandu Post quoted the same figures at the Pokhara launch in February 2026. The official site now lists Rs 4,87,000 to Rs 5,11,000 by colour, so check the current price at the showroom.

The Gorkha Edition Classic 350 is a themed version. According to The Himalayan Times, it went on sale in Nepal in August 2026 at Rs 5,99,000 with a Gorkha Green paint scheme and a crossed-khukuri insignia, on the same J-series engine as the standard Classic.

Engine, power and mileage

Both bikes use Royal Enfield's 349 cc J-series single, rated at 14.87 kW (about 20.2 PS) and 27 Nm, with a 5-speed gearbox and electric start. On paper the engines are identical; the difference is what they are bolted into.

Engine 349 cc single 349 cc single
Power 14.87 kW (about 20.2 PS) 14.87 kW (about 20.2 PS)*
Torque 27 Nm 27 Nm*
Gearbox 5-speed 5-speed*
Claimed fuel economy 36.2 km/l not published
Fuel tank 13 L 13 L*

* Classic 350 technical figures are from Royal Enfield's India page (global spec, may differ in Nepal), because the Nepal page shows its specifications only as an image.

Under ideal road & environmental conditions, fuel economy of 36.2 kmpl can be expected from the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
Royal Enfield Nepal, Hunter 350 FAQ

Royal Enfield gives no fuel economy figure for the Classic 350 on either its Nepal or India page. With the same engine and gearbox it would be reasonable to expect a similar figure, but the Classic weighs 14 kg more, and we do not publish a number the brand has not given. If mileage matters to you, ask the dealer for the claimed figure in writing.

Fuel cost example (Hunter 350): at Nepal Oil Corporation's Kathmandu price of Rs 200 per litre and the claimed 36.2 km/l, fuel costs about Rs 5.52 per km (200 ÷ 36.2), or about Rs 5,525 a month for 1,000 km. Real-world mileage is usually lower than the claimed figure, so treat this as a best case. For comparison, our highest-mileage bikes guide ranks every bike that publishes a figure.

Weight, seat height and size

This is where the two really differ, and it matches what buyers search for: "weight" and "seat height".

Hunter 350 Classic 350*
Kerb weight 181 kg 195 kg
Seat height 790 mm 805 mm
Ground clearance 160 mm 170 mm
Length 2,055 mm 2,145 mm
Wheelbase 1,370 mm 1,390 mm
Width 810 mm 785 mm
Height 1,070 mm 1,090 mm
Tyres 110/70-17 front, 140/70-17 rear, tubeless depend on spoke or alloy wheels (not listed per colour)

* Classic 350 figures: Royal Enfield India (global spec, may differ in Nepal).

In plain words: the Hunter is 14 kg lighter, sits 15 mm lower and is 90 mm shorter, which makes it the easier bike to push around a parking lot or squeeze through Kathmandu traffic. The Classic is longer, has a longer wheelbase and 10 mm more ground clearance. Shorter riders often look at seat height first; at 790 mm the Hunter is the lower of the two, though both are well above a typical scooter.

Brakes, safety and features

Both bikes come with the same braking hardware: a 300 mm front disc with a twin-piston caliper, a 270 mm rear disc, and dual-channel ABS (the Nepal pages list dual-channel ABS for every colour of both bikes). Both use 41 mm telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks with 6-step preload adjustment.

Other features we can confirm from official pages and news reports:

  • Slip-assist clutch: listed on the Classic 350 Nepal page and reported for the refreshed Hunter 350 by The Himalayan Times and The Kathmandu Post. It makes the clutch lever lighter.
  • USB-C charging port: listed on the Classic 350 Nepal page.
  • LED headlamp: reported for the refreshed Hunter 350.

Royal Enfield's Nepal pages do not publish a vehicle warranty for either bike, so ask the dealer to write the warranty terms on your invoice.

EMI example for each bike

Nepal Rastra Bank lets banks lend up to 60% of a private vehicle's price, so you need at least 40% as a down payment. As an example only, using Nepal Bank's 5-year fixed auto loan rate of 7.99% (October 2026; two-wheeler loan rates at your bank may differ):

Hunter 350 (Rs 4,87,000) Classic 350 (Rs 5,86,000)
Down payment (40%) Rs 1,94,800 Rs 2,34,400
Loan (60%) Rs 2,92,200 Rs 3,51,600
EMI, 5 years at 7.99% about Rs 5,923 a month about Rs 7,127 a month
Total interest over 5 years about Rs 63,200 about Rs 76,050

The down payment and loan exclude registration, road tax and insurance, which come on top. Try your own figures in the EMI calculator, and read our guide to bike and scooter loans in Nepal before you sign.

Which suits whom

What we like

  • Hunter 350: about Rs 1 lakh cheaper to buy, 14 kg lighter, lower seat and shorter length
  • Hunter 350: the only one of the two with a published fuel economy figure (36.2 km/l claimed)
  • Classic 350: more ground clearance (170 mm) and a longer wheelbase, plus the Gorkha-themed edition
  • Classic 350: seven colours, including the most expensive Emerald finish

What could be better

  • Classic 350: no fuel economy figure published, and Nepal specs are only shown as an image
  • Neither bike has a published vehicle warranty on the Nepal site
  • Choose the Hunter 350 if you want the lower price, a lighter and shorter bike for city use, or a published mileage figure to plan your fuel budget.
  • Choose the Classic 350 if you want the traditional retro styling, a little more ground clearance for rough roads, or the Gorkha Edition, and the extra Rs 75,000 to Rs 1,24,000 fits your budget.

Neither is "faster": they share the same rated power and torque, and Royal Enfield's Nepal pages do not list a top speed for either. If you are also weighing the touring-style sibling, the Meteor 350 uses the same engine from Rs 5,91,000, and the Goan Classic 350 claims 36.2 km/l from Rs 6,12,000.
